Advanced as a business has grown through acquisition and sustained organic growth, leading to a complex and diverse technology landscape and product portfolio. The Enterprise Architect will be pivotal in designing and directing a simplified set of Technology Domain target architectures and roadmaps, that align with the business and technology strategy. These are instrumental in enabling the future state architecture vision and transformation plan across our business.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for creation and ongoing refresh of all technology domain architecture artefacts (references architectures, patterns, anti-patterns) and architecture guardrails (principles, policies, and standards) to create a consistent, coherent, and usable set of architecture artefacts.  Work with the technology domain architects and platform engineering directors to deliver these in a federated organization structure.
  • Oversee, review, and manage any Architecture Design Decisions – ADD’s (and supplementary documentation including business cases) linked to all technology domains, working with the Chief Architect and VP of Architecture & Strategy to ensure alignment and improve quality.
  • Ensure alignment to architecture guardrails & artefacts as part of any Architecture Review Board (ARB) submission and triage.  Raise and manage any exceptions, waivers, risks, issues, or actions that may result from these architecture design decisions.  Ensure clear owners are established, with accountabilities and timelines to close.
  • Implement & manage the wider Architecture Community of Practice, ensuring we have an engaged community that shares knowledge and information, with regular information sharing sessions that promote wider collaboration and culture that ensues from this.
  • Own the process for triage and management of any Technology driven architecturally significant change, ensuring the ARB pipeline is planned accordingly to support multiple levels of approval.
  • Continual improvement of the Architecture operating model and ARB processes to optimize for Technology teams.
  • Provide technology thought leadership and direction.  Represent the technology and architecture team at Industry events and conferences as appropriate.

What You Will Have

  • Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or similar role within a complex IT landscape that has grown quickly through acquisition alongside organic growth.

  • Excellent technical, analytical and project management skills.
  • Excellent persuasion, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the appropriate gravitas and leadership with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of operating in a matrix and federated organization structure.

  • Experience building architecture artefacts across portfolios of products, that span multiple geographies.
  • Strong understanding of core modern workplace products and services.
