Role Introduction

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Development Team Leader/Manager to lead our SDR team and drive revenue growth for our organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales development plans, managing a team of sales development representatives, and fostering strong relationships with clients and partners. The Sales Development Team Leader/Manager will play a key role in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence, and achieving sales targets. 

 

This role will be based from our Birmingham office 4 days per week.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the SDR team’s performance and ensure they achieve/overachieve their targets. 
  • Coach the team to identify new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and networking activities, and develop strategies to capitalise on emerging trends and market opportunities. 
  • Report performance and key KPIs to leadership weekly/monthly. 
  • Ensure inbound leads are followed up by the team within the required SLAs. 
  • Ensure opportunities created fulfil the qualification criteria and there is a smooth handover to sales both internally and for our prospects. 
  • Meet 1-1 with each team member weekly to provide guidance, coaching and identify where they need additional support to achieve their goals. 
  • Work with the team to develop high quality outreach sequences that cover all platforms (e.g. Email, LinkedIn, Calls, Direct Mail etc.). 
  • Provide group training sessions for the team to improve their skill set, showing tangible improvements in results e.g. improved messaging response rates. 
  • Build Personal Development Plans including compensation plans for each of your team, supporting them in gaining the skills required to progress to their next role. 
  • Identify underperformance risks early and set plans in place to improve this.  
  • Hire top talent into open roles, always keeping a pipeline of candidates for any backfills needed. 
  • Create suggestions for improvements to processes, with a focus on delivering quality pipeline for sales teams that converts to revenue. 
  • Work with Revenue Enablement team on headcount planning, SDR participation in Sales Kick Offs, Trainings and Off-sites. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing teams on measuring the quality of MQLs, as well as processes for SDR outreach on specific campaigns & events.  
  • Work with Revenue Operations team to ensure the operations in place support the team to be successful - raising any issues as needed. 
  • Communicate updates/changes to the team weekly - passing any feedback or insight back to leadership. 

What You Will Have

  • Proven experience in sales development, sales, or related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role. 
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, achieving sales targets, and building strong customer relationships. 
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. 
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights and recommendations. 
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business development strategies and initiatives, reporting on the same. 
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving business outcomes and delivering value to the organisation. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesLoft & Gong. [or similar products]
