Role Introduction

As the finance modelling lead for Anaplan, you will be responsible for working closely with our chosen System Integrator to deliver efficient and effective management information to enable improved decision making in Anaplan. The role is hybrid with at least 3 days in our Head Office located in central Birmingham.

What You Will Do

  • Working in an Agile environment, work with the business stakeholders, finance stakeholders and the 3rd party system integrator team to define and agree the details of the functional design (i.e. standard reporting catalogue, cost allocation model design, budget design, forecasting design).
    Stay current with latest Anaplan technologies and best practices within the industry
  • Craft dynamic models, incorporate complex business rules, and develop dashboards in Anaplan to provide actionable insights
  • Seamlessly integrate data sources with Anaplan through data import/export, API connections, and data transformation processes
  • Utilize advanced formula writing in Anaplan, including multi-dimensional formula usage and complex calculations, to drive accurate forecasting and predictive modelling
  • Provide training, support, and user guides to maximize Anaplan model usability, addressing user queries and issues promptly
  • Conduct maintenance and updates to Anaplan models, ensuring they remain agile and responsive to evolving business needs. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to produce ‘to-be’ design deliverables including user stories, clarifying business requirements and functional design.
  • Report to the Head of FP&A

What You Will Have

  • Strong data modelling skills with experience of building financial planning and forecasting models (ideally L1 & L2 certified in Anaplan but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel. Including an understanding of how to develop macros, and model large data sets utilizing Lookups and SumIf functions
  • Strong understanding of multi-dimensional data architecture
  • Previous experience with EPM tools ideally Anaplan
  • A proven track record in presenting analysis and outputs to stakeholders
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness and a strong focus on accuracy are crucial when working with financial data and building complex models
  • Adaptability: The ability to quickly adapt to changes in project requirements, business processes, or technology updates is essential
  • Communication: Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and articulate complex ideas clearly to model builders
