Role Introduction

OneAdvanced are seeking a FinOps Engineer to work alongside our FinOps Lead with cost optimization and financial management for AWS and Azure environments, ensuring efficiency and financial accountability.

 

The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to implement cost-saving initiatives, ensure financial accountability, and enhance visibility into cloud expenditures.

What You Will Do

  • Cost Optimization: Implement strategies like rightsizing, reserved/spot instances, and auto-scaling.
  • Automation & IaC: Use Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation; script in CDK, JavaScript, Bash, PowerShell.
  • Tagging & Governance: Apply resource tagging, budget controls, and compliance policies.
  • Harness Platform: Manage cloud costs with Harness; integrate with AWS and Azure.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage budgets, forecast spending, track expenditures.
  • Alerts & Notifications: Set up alerts for cost anomalies and budget overruns.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Generate reports, analyze trends, track KPIs.
  • Collaboration: Work with finance, operations, and engineering teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enhance cost optimization strategies.
  • Cloud Services: Understand AWS and Azure services, pricing, and billing.
  • DevOps: Manage CI/CD pipelines, automate tasks, ensure security and compliance.

What You Will Have

Required Skills:

  • 3+ years in cloud financial management.
  • Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with cloud cost tools (CloudHealth, Harness CCM, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management).
  • Strong scripting/programming skills (NodeJS, Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java, C#).
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.

Preferred Skills:

  • Cloud architecture experience.
  • Advanced PowerShell and Bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with Harness.
  • Experience with New Relic and Agile methodologies.
