Principal Data Engineer

About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in transforming our internal data ecosystem. This role will directly support the adoption of an enterprise-wide Master Data Management (MDM) strategy, ensuring exceptional data quality and governance across a suite of systems including Salesforce, NetSuite, Boomi/Prismatic, Helix, Anaplan, and Snowflake.

You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams, acting as a key liaison between technical and business stakeholders, while designing scalable data solutions that elevate data integrity and business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Quality Assurance: Design and implement data quality frameworks; conduct validation routines to maintain high standards across platforms.
• MDM Strategy Execution: Support the rollout and continuous improvement of an MDM framework aligned with enterprise governance standards.
• Data Cleansing & Deduplication: Lead initiatives to eliminate duplicate records and ensure consistency across interconnected systems.
• Integration Oversight: Collaborate with Integration Specialists to monitor and optimize data flows across platforms, including upcoming Snowflake integrations.
• Data Migration & Transformation: Perform end-to-end data transformation and migration using tools such as SQL, Excel, VBA, and Python.
• Advanced Data Modelling: Develop robust and performant data models, including advanced normalization/denormalization techniques.
• Dashboarding & Reporting: Leverage Power BI to visualize data quality metrics and generate actionable insights.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a data subject matter expert, translating technical insights for stakeholders across Engineering, Cybersecurity, Product, and Business teams.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of data flows, governance policies, quality protocols, and integration processes.
• Business Collaboration: Gather business requirements and deliver scalable data-driven solutions tailored to stakeholder needs.

Technical Skills & Qualifications:

• Master Data Management & Governance: Deep understanding of MDM frameworks and governance best practices.
• Integration Tools: Hands-on experience with Boomi or similar integration platforms. Familiarity with Snowflake (data lake) and Anaplan (data warehouse) preferred.
• Data Tools & Languages: Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, VBA, and Python.
• Visualization Tools: Proficient with Power BI for real-time dashboards and reports.
• Enterprise Platforms: Solid understanding of data structures in Salesforce and NetSuite.
• Lead-to-Cash Process Knowledge: Exposure to financial and business workflows, particularly lead-to-cash cycles.
• Tool Familiarity: Experience with JIRA and ITSM tools is a plus.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in data engineering roles, with a proven history of executing large-scale transformation initiatives.
