Role Introduction

The role of Senior Product Manager - Payroll, strategically and commercially manages the product line that they are responsible for. The Senior Product Manager leverages their advanced understanding of their products industry/domain and applies their in-depth understanding of customer needs and behaviours to inform a multi-year product vision, strategy and roadmap. With strong financial acumen, the Senior Product Manager leverages their understanding of finance principles and product metrics to drive ARR growth and COGS (cost of goods sold) reduction to achieve product contribution targets. The role suits someone with advanced understanding and experience of the concept to market process and product lifecycle management.

What You Will Do

  • Collect and translate Market, Sector, Customer & OneAdvanced team data into a central source to facilitate the fact base required to inform the product road mapping process
  • Collaborate with customers via a variety of forums to ensure the solutions we deliver understand our customers Jobs To Be Done, the pain points to be addressed and outcomes to be achieved to deemed successful.
  • Communicate the ongoing product roadmap on a regular basis to internal stakeholders and teams clearly demonstrating the value our planned initiatives deliver.
  • Work effectively with the Product Owner for Payroll and Engineering team to ensure alignment on our desired customer outcomes and/or financial goals and hence deliver solutions that delight our customers and help us achieve our budgets.
  • Driving overall go-to-market strategy, collaborating with all internal stakeholders, to deliver value to our customers, quickly via a smooth rollout process.
  • Apply understanding of key financial terms, product metrics and understanding of leading/lagging indications to drive product contribution
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue (e.g. exploring new markets, implementing retention strategies) and to reduce costs
  • Comfortable building business cases and performing ROI analysis
  • Gather feedback during development and post release - both qualitative and quantitative.

What You Will Have

  • Excitement, creativity and the ability to communicate effectively through non-development tools, concepts, ideas and the art of the possible to generate discussion and feedback from internal stakeholders & customers.
  • Strong communication skills to drive effective dialogue & clear messaging of the roadmap, the customer benefits & Advanced strategy to senior stakeholders around the business.
  • Strong collaboration & facilitation skills – bringing multiple products, teams & functions together to drive innovation workshops & discussions.
  • An analytical approach to problem solving, data analysis and insights driven
  • Strategic thinking – can develop a big-picture view and link long term vision to daily work
  • A desire to learn quickly and to learn about new products, markets, customer and associated challenges.
  • Previous Product Management experience, and knowledge around the software development life cycle, agile methodologies and of SaaS solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of Payroll processes, relevant UK compliance and legislation and the associated technology landscape.
