The SVP Incubation Business Unit is responsible for the identification and incubation of less mature, high-growth markets. The role sets the strategic direction, manages overall divisional performance, and ensures the alignment of our product, sales and services teams to drive revenue growth and customer retention.

Reporting to the Group CEO and sitting as a member of the company’s Executive Committee, the SVP Incubation Business Unit is a senior operator who can translate emerging-market opportunity into commercial reality, building the go-to-market model, incubating new propositions, driving hyper-growth, and graduating mature sectors into the wider business. The role combines strategic vision, commercial ownership, operational discipline and a relentless customer focus.

What You Will Do

The SVP Incubation Business Unit carries accountability for the division across four areas: determining and leading the go-to-market execution, driving product innovation and service to win and retain customers, delivering upon all commercial and financial performance commitments, and building a high-performing team, all within the organisational operating model.

Lead the go-to-market execution of the sector

  • Develop and communicate a clear vision and long-term strategy that aligns with the company’s mission and drives material value creation for the company.
  • Work with the Group CEO and Executive Team to set and execute business goals, ensuring high growth in emerging sectors and the identification of new sector incubation opportunities.
  • Drive competitive analysis, market research and customer advisory activities to ensure the company remains at the forefront of industry trends and customer needs.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and evangelist for the sector, build brand awareness, and ensure strong relationships with key government, industry and professional body stakeholders.
  • Develop and lead M&A (in conjunction with Group), partnerships and alliance strategies to drive growth.

Commercial and financial delivery

  • Set bookings and revenue (iARR, ARR, NRR, GRR) goals and work with the sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market plays that drive customer acquisition, share-of-wallet increase and customer retention.
  • Accurately forecast commercial performance and ensure plans are in place to remedy risks and explore opportunities.
  • Report regularly to the Group executive team and the Board on financial and operational performance of the sector, including financial performance, key metrics and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure clear intelligence and insight into why the company wins or loses sales and renewals.
  • Ensure delivery of commercial and financial performance commitments.

People and operational management

  • Lead, mentor, build and develop a high-performing go-to-market team that is results-focused and has a one-team mindset.
  • Embed our values and a high-performing culture across the sector teams, ensuring organisational health and resilience, and that talent is focused on the right strategic priorities.
  • Implement and adopt effective operational processes to improve profitable top-line growth, productivity and retention.
  • Drive operational governance cadence to ensure proactive organisational performance and mitigation of risks.
  • Ensure the right balance is made between sector-specific needs and adoption/alignment to Group processes, governance and tooling.

Product innovation and service to drive customer acquisition and retention

  • Champion the voice of the market and the customer across the organisation, ensuring customer feedback informs product, support and sales strategies.
  • Focus on customer retention and churn reduction through delivering a customer-first approach, improving time-to-value and enhancing user engagement.
  • Drive adoption of horizontal product and platform releases and ensure the value proposition aligns to the sector strategy and customer retention needs.
  • Generate product value propositions to reflect customer and market needs and deliver a strong return on product development investment.

What You Will Have

The successful candidate will be a commercially astute, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in ambiguity and can build businesses from an early stage while operating credibly at Board and Executive Committee level.

  • A proven track record of building and scaling emerging or high-growth business lines in a SaaS or technology environment, ideally taking new propositions from incubation to material, repeatable revenue.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a top-line revenue target, including responsibility for ARR, NRR, GRR and bookings, with a strong command of forecasting and commercial governance.
  • Experience designing and running go-to-market models in a matrix, sales, marketing, product and services, and aligning them behind a single growth strategy.
  • Credibility to operate as a member of an Executive Committee and to present to and influence the Group CEO, the Board and investors.
  • Experience leading M&A, partnerships or alliances in support of a growth agenda, in conjunction with a central corporate development function.
  • A customer-obsessed operator who uses market and customer insight to shape product, retention and go-to-market decisions.
  • A strong people leader able to attract, build and develop high-performing, results-focused teams and to embed a one-team, high-performance culture.
  • An exceptional communicator and evangelist who can represent the sector externally with government, industry and professional-body stakeholders.
  • A systems thinker, decisive, outcome-focused and intellectually sharp, able to balance sector autonomy with alignment to Group processes, governance and tooling.
