Director of Engineering - Infrastructure Operations

Mandate:  To lead OneAdvanced's Infrastructure Operations function across AWS, Azure, and private cloud — building a resilient, incident-free platform estate, scaling a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers, and driving the shift toward an Agentic ZeroOps model that puts AI-assisted and autonomous tooling to work reducing manual operational toil.

About the Role

OneAdvanced's Infrastructure Operations function keeps our platforms — including IQ, our intelligent system of work — reliable, secure, and cost-efficient across AWS, Azure, and private cloud. As Director, Infrastructure Operations, you'll lead this function in Bangalore: owning platform and cloud operations end-to-end, driving incident management and resilience, defining the processes that keep a fast-growing infrastructure estate under control, and building a team of 15–20 infrastructure engineers, including managers.

You'll also help shape where the function goes next — driving the adoption of AI-assisted and agentic tooling to reduce manual operational toil, working toward an Agentic ZeroOps future where routine operational work is increasingly handled

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Cloud Operations

• Own infrastructure operations across AWS, Azure, and private cloud, ensuring reliable, well-monitored, and secure platforms.
• Set and uphold operational standards for monitoring, resilience, and patch compliance across the estate.
• Partner with infrastructure engineering team on cloud architecture decisions, cost optimization, and the infrastructure roadmap.
• Drive operational resiliency and disaster recovery for OneAdvanced product portfolio

Incident Management & Resilience

• Own major incident response for infrastructure and platform issues, ensuring fast, well-coordinated resolution.
• Drive root cause analysis and ensure lessons are fed back into process and architecture improvements.
• Champion operational resilience commitments across the infrastructure estate.

Process & Governance

• Define, implement, and continuously improve the processes that govern change, incident response, and operational risk.
• Own change governance for infrastructure changes, balancing delivery speed with risk control.
• Establish clear escalation paths and decision rights across the function.

Team Leadership

• Lead, grow, and mentor a team of 15–20 infrastructure engineers, building both technical depth and leadership capability.
• Own hiring, performance management, and career development for the team.
• Build a culture of ownership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Work closely with Engineering, Services, and Customer Success teams to align infrastructure operations with product and customer needs.
• Represent Infrastructure Operations in cross-functional planning and governance forums.
• Act as an escalation point for infrastructure-related customer and stakeholder concerns.

Driving an Agentic ZeroOps Future

• Define and drive the roadmap for reducing manual operational toil through AI-assisted and agentic tooling.
• Identify practical opportunities to embed AI into monitoring, incident response, and change workflows.
• Build the team's fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools, and establish where autonomous or semi-autonomous operations make sense.
• Balance the pace of AI adoption with the reliability and governance the function is accountable for.

You'll need

• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or cloud operations, including significant people leadership experience.
• A proven track record leading teams of 15+ engineers, with strong hiring and talent development skills.
• Deep, hands-on expertise across AWS and Azure.
• A strong understanding of private cloud and hybrid infrastructure models.
• Experience owning incident management for complex, multi-service environments.
• A track record of defining and scaling operational processes, including change governance.
• Excellent cross-functional stakeholder management, including with engineering, services, and customer-facing teams.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on technical levels.
