Senior People Business Partner

You'll be joining an award-winning People team, recognised as CIPD People Team of the Year and HR Excellence People Team of the Year, inside a business named among the FT's Best Employers in Europe and one of the UK's most innovative companies.

We're looking for an experienced Senior People Business Partner to work alongside senior leaders, this is a genuinely strategic partnering role. You'll translate business priorities into a clear people agenda, shaping organisational design, workforce capability, performance, talent and engagement to help the business scale and deliver its ambitions.

You'll work closely with senior leaders operating in a commercially driven environment, so you'll need to understand how a business performs, the financial and operational levers behind that performance, and how the people agenda can directly influence results.

You'll also play an important role in our continued transformation as an AI-first organisation, helping leaders rethink skills, roles, structures and ways of working.

This is a hybrid role with 2–3 days per week working from our Birmingham HQ.

• Act as a trusted strategic advisor and coach to senior business leaders, translating business priorities into clear, actionable people plans.

• Lead organisational design and strategic workforce planning, balancing cost, capacity, capability and future skills requirements.

• Partner with leadership teams on talent, succession and performance, strengthening pipelines for business-critical and hard-to-fill roles.

• Help embed our talent architecture, including job families, levelling, capability frameworks and career pathways, supporting our move towards a more skills-based organisation.

• Lead the people agenda across organisational change and transformation, including operating-model changes, restructuring and evolving global ways of working.

• Use people data, business metrics and talent insights to identify priorities, influence decisions and measure impact.

• Shape engagement and retention strategies, using insight to strengthen the employee experience and reduce regretted attrition.

• Champion AI-first and technology-enabled ways of working, helping leaders understand how AI, automation and workflow improvements can reshape roles, skills and productivity.

• Lead and contribute to cross-functional People initiatives that improve how we support our leaders, teams and wider business.

You'll already be operating as an established Senior People/HR Business Partner, working directly with senior leadership teams in a complex organisation.

We're particularly interested in experience gained within technology, SaaS, professional services or similarly fast-paced, commercially focused environments would be highly relevant.

You'll also bring:

• Significant experience operating in a strategic People/HR Business Partnering role

• Strong commercial acumen, with the confidence to understand and discuss business and financial performance and connect this to the people agenda.

• Experience working within a medium or large, matrixed organisation and navigating multiple senior stakeholders.

• Evidence of translating business strategy into a meaningful people and workforce strategy.

• Strong organisational design and strategic workforce planning experience.

• Exposure to talent architecture, career frameworks, skills or capability programmes.

• Confidence using data, talent metrics and commercial insight to challenge thinking, influence strategy and demonstrate impact.
